Step It Up: I Am Shark Poem

Kia Ora,

Today for the summer learning journey I decided to do a poem! In this activity, we used a template where we had to fill in the blanks. After that I created a Google slide and inserted photos that match my poem, adding pictures is a good thing to do because it can be more appealing. When I finished making my slide, I used the Google Slides recording feature and read my poem!

My Poem is about the perspective of a shark. This shark is lonely, she wishes that she could fit in with the other sea creatures.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog post, have you done this activity yet? I recommend it. Have a great day, Haere rā!

: 𓏲 Summer Learning Journey 2024

Yara The Narwhal

Kia Ora, we had to color in a Narwhal for today’s summer learning journey. I really enjoyed this because I got to use a new website that allows you to color anything online! Here are a few facts about narwhals:

The narwhal horn is used to sense changes in the environment.

Narwhals were first documented by European explorers in the 1600s.

Yara has a question for you! “Would you rather live with a shark or a narwhal for the rest of your life?”

Japanese Puffer Fish

Aloha! For the summer learning journey, we had to create a Japanese puffer fish using Google drawings. I used different shapes and lines! I loved doing this because I liked trying different shapes I had never used before. I also learned that Japanese puffer fish are very creative fish!

Facts about Japanese puffer fish:

There are about 350 types of pufferfish around the world, and about 35 types of Japanese pufferfish/fugu in the seas around Japan

Here is my puffer fish Google drawing:

Disney Marine Animals Trading Cards

Today, we made Disney trading cards for the summer learning journey, particularly on sea animals. We had an online template while we drew a photo of any Disney sea animal. I did Nemo from Finding Nemo. Let me tell you a bit about Nemo:

Nemo is adventurous, kind, pleasant, keen, and friendly!

This is a photo of my trading card:

What’s your favorite sea animal Disney character?

The Stonefish: The Most Venomous Fish

Kia Ora! We created a wanted poster for the stone for the summer learning journey.

Facts about stonefish:

  1. They are the most venomous fish in the world.
  2. They can survive up to 24 hours out of water.
  3. They camouflage so well that other fish cannot see them, and humans cannot see them without a close look.

What do you know about stonefish, have you ever come across a stonefish?

Holiday Writing

Hello! This is my writing about my holiday:

In the holidays me and Emeli had a sleepover, let me tell you about it!

On Saturday morning I woke up, had Coco Pops Cereal, and started getting ready for Emeli to come over. I brushed my teeth and cleaned my house a bit.

“Knock, Knock, Knock!” The door said. “This must be Emeli!” I thought. I ran to the door and saw…drum roll, please… Emeli! I helped her carry her bags, and we walked into my sister’s room, where we would be staying for the night. First, we sat on the bed opposite each other, It was extremely awkward because we’d never had a sleepover together before. “Let’s do fidget trading!” Emeli said, “Sure!”. I ran downstairs to grab my fidget basket then walked back upstairs and placed it on the bed. We played trading for a while until we decided that we want to walk to my local McDonald’s. “Mum can me and Emeli walk to Mcdonald’s, we will just get frozen cokes?” “Sorry, but no I’m already cooking chicken barbecue. You could just go to the park instead!” my mum said. So I told Emeli and my sister wanted to come as well so we started getting ready. When we were ready we started to head out.

By the way, this isn’t finished yet😆 Thank you for reading have a great day!
